ABOUT THE SALIDA STORY TRAIL
The Salida Story Trail is a free self-guided walking experience through the heart of historic downtown Salida, Colorado. As you explore the National Historic District, you'll discover the stories behind many of the buildings, businesses and landmarks that helped shape one of Colorado's best-preserved railroad towns.
Each Salida Story Trail location features a QR code displayed in the window of a participating downtown business. Simply scan the code with your smartphone to instantly read the history of that location—no app, registration or download required. Visit one stop or explore them all at your own pace.
Created by Steve Chapman and Salida Walking Tours, the Salida Story Trail is the result of years of historical research into Salida's people, architecture and forgotten stories. New locations will continue to be added, making the trail an ever-growing way for visitors and locals alike to experience the history of downtown Salida.
