WHAT FORMS OF PAYMENT CAN I USE?
Cash is always welcome (exact change is appreciated). You can also pay online with all major credit cards or in person by Venmo. 
SHOULD I TIP MY GUIDE?
I you feel your guide did an exceptional job, tipping is greatly appreciated. While the amount of gratuity is a personal preference, $5 - $10 per person is a typical amount. You can tip with cash, Venmo, or plastic. Our busy season is only 8 months long, so your tips help!
HOW LONG/DIFFICULT ARE THE TOURS?
All tours are 1.5 hours (about 12 blocks). Our tours are all slow-paced walking, nothing strenuous or uphill.
WHERE IS THE MEETING PLACE FOR MY TOUR?
All Salida tours meet ON the F Street Bridge, located near 228 North F Street. Just head toward the S on the mountain! 
WHEN ARE TOURS AVAILABLE?
Varies by season. Please click here for specific dates.
DO YOU EVER CANCEL BECAUSE OF WEATHER?
Rarely. This is in the high country, where the weather can (and does) change without notice. Delays do occur for lightning or flash floods, but otherwise, rain, sleet, snow, or scorching sun, the show goes on. Dress for the elements. *During winter months, tours are not held if the temperature/wind chill is cold enough to be dangerous. 
HOW MANY PEOPLE ARE ON A TOUR?
Most tours carry a maximum of 22 guests. Private tour numbers depend on you.
CAN I BRING MY DOG?
Only service dogs as approved by the Americans with Disabilities Act. Emotional support, comfort, and companion dogs are not allowed on any tour.

Locals are surprised every day! That's one of the most rewarding things of this business--making Salida come alive for residents. Even long-time Salidans are surprised at what they learn about their town. Plus, you'll have a blast. Just check our reviews.
WILL CHILDREN HAVE FUN?
Absolutely! Your guide loves well-behaved kids and includes them in the storytelling. Children will hear about life before social media and electronics, and their eyes always grow wide when hearing stories about gunfights and of towns with few laws or rules. Please be aware some tours discuss prostitution, ghosts, and murders. All tours are rated PG-13 and not recommended for sensitive younger children.
IS THE ROUTE WHEELCHAIR ACCESSIBLE?
Yes. The streets and sidewalks of downtown Salida and have access for all. Routes have designed to take advantage of these wheelchair ramps.

HOW DO I MAKE A RESERVATION?
You can book online or call 719-497-9444. Reservations must be made at least one hour in advance, although many tours fill up days ahead.

CANCELLATION POLICY

CANCELLATION POLICY

Receive a full refund if you cancel at least 48 hours prior to your original reservation date. A rain check will be issued for cancellations made with less than a 48-hour notice. No-shows  will be charged the full price and will not be able to reschedule.

*Tours are subject to cancellation due to dangerous weather conditions. In such situations, Salida Walking Tours will reach out with at least 3 hours notice to offer rescheduling or a refund.
