What to Expect. Join us as we explore the best drinking holes, guided by the local historian, Steve Chapman. Author of six books on Salida history and winner of a prestigious award for his Salida history radio show, Steve brings the past to life like no other.

Highlights of our History on Tap tour:
· Immerse yourself in the former red-light district as we traverse the F Street Bridge, unraveling chilling tales of western justice and the seedier side of Salida's reputation.
· Savor the Wild West ambiance while enjoying some adult beverages along the way. You'll wander through Colorado's largest National Historic District with 136 building preserved from 1883-1910
· With 2.5 hours of fascinating stories, you'll have ample time to sample local brews and cocktails and to ask questions about our history.
· Visit 3 establishments to sample beers, margaritas, and cocktails. The specific number and route are not guaranteed. Rest assured, Steve will be armed with plenty of stories about shootouts, working girls, and the early days of Salida.

​What You Will Experience. Discover the fascinating story behind Salida's unique pronunciation, Sah-LIE-Dah, not Sah-LEE-Dah. Uncover the intriguing transformation from the original name, South Arkansas, to the Salida we know today. Brace yourself for tales of knife fights, brutal beatings, and the chilling murder of a local Marshal that shaped the city's character.

What You Can Drink. We'll stop at local taverns and drinking holes where you can sample beers and liquors from Salida and Colorado. Purchase of alcohol is not required and is not included in the tour price.​

​Details. The History on Tap tour is for guests 21 and over. Legal identification is required. Only ADA-qualified service dogs may join. About 12 blocks of walking on flat services.​

Receive a full refund if you cancel at least 24 hours prior to your original reservation date. A rain check will be issued for cancellations made with less than a 24-hour notice. No-shows will be charged the full price and will not be able to reschedule.
